
As part of the tactical urbanism & film festival Slavutych 86, in Ukraine, leading a team of young people to design and build a structure over the course of two weeks. Working in partnership with Hello Wood and Fruzsi Karig, the team included architects, photographers, graphic designers and journalists.
The design responded to the “kotlovan” a huge pit in the centre of the town that was dug out for a lake when the town was built in 1986, in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster, but funds ran out before it could be filled with water. The pier/lighthouse element joined up with an existing deck structure built by local teens a few years prior.
